„NOVELTIES IN SPORT SCIENCES”
September 29th
The second multiplier event titled: International Scientific Conference “Novelties in Sport Sciences”, took place at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education University of Novi Sad, Serbia, on 29th September 2022. The main aim of the event was to introduce the e-learning materials that were developed in the second phase of the project. The materials presented concerned all IOs developed in the project with a special emphasis on IO5-Sport Marketing and IO6-Sport Pedagogy.
50 participants from Serbia were present, including teaching staff from 3 Serbian universities, as well as managers and administrative staff from various sports associations and sports clubs. 4 participants from abroad were present, 2 from higher education institutions and 2 from sports clubs.
Prof. Dr. Sergej Ostojić, the Vice Dean for Scientific Research and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education University of Novi Sad, who is the project manager for MOSMEN in Serbia, welcomed the participants and introduced the members of the MOSMEN project teams. He emphasized the importance of participating in international projects such as this one, because of the invaluable opportunity to work together with professionals from European countries, working on the same goal and developing new values, that will be recognized throughout Europe. Prof. Dr. Borislav Obradović, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and a member of the MOSMEN team in Serbia explained how this project will impact the education of sports managers in Serbia, which is currently underdeveloped and not recognized enough, especially because it will be available online through e-learning materials, making it easier for so many people to gain appropriate education. The invited guest at the conference, Mr. Miloš Miljanić, the Director of the Education Center of the Football Association of Serbia, was thrilled to see that MOSMEN project is tackling such an important and very much-needed subject as the development of educational materials in sport management, promising to fully support the MOSMEN project results dissemination.
The members of the Polish team, Dr. Joanna Baj-Korpak and Dr. Marian Stelmach, presented the materials they developed in IO1 and IO2. „To be or not to be (physically active)? Introduction to Health Sport Course”, the presentation covered general knowledge on physical activity, healthy lifestyles, healthy behavior and health-promoting physical activity. „Fundamentals of Exercise Physiology as an integral part of the multidisciplinary knowledge of modern sports managers”, gave a detailed perspective of the course and education material that was developed.
The members of the Hungarian team, Dr. Alexandra Makai, Dr. Viktória Prémusz and Dr. habil. Dávid Paár, presented the materials developed in IO3 and IO4. “Understanding statistical data in sport science - Physical activity patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic, result of a longitudinal research”, presented how the skills acquired during the course can be applied in specific scientific research with the very recent pandemic. The presentations “Changes in physical activity and well-being of the Hungarian population during the first to the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic” and “Competitive balance in the professional sports leagues of Central and Eastern Europe” gave further insight into using developed materials in specific environments, supporting problem-solving skills in students and managers, that will be acquired when taking the courses.
IO5 course was presented by Ass. Prof. Radenko Matić PhD, from the Serbian team. “Sport marketing: Past, Present, Future”, gave an outlay of the course developed and explained in detail the necessity of obtaining knowledge in this subject in a modern world and which tools and skills will students develop, that are essential for their future work. “Sport Pedagogy: Becoming a successful youth sports coach” by Ass. Prof. Darinka Korovljev PhD, presented the IO6 education materials and the concrete application of this knowledge in the field.
September 30th
After presentations of educational materials and scientific research during the conference on September 29th, the participants were given an opportunity to express their views, comments, and suggestions on September 30th, at the Round Table discussion. In a very positive atmosphere, participants were able to ask further questions about the details of the materials and also give feedback on what they would like to add, or improve.
In order to summarize the impressions, and help MOSMEN team gain insight into the comments given, the participants were asked to fill in a Satisfaction Survey. 51 surveys were collected and the Satisfaction Survey Analysis Report was made in order to summarize the evaluations given by the participants.
The event raised a lot of interest in participants and we received numerous proposals to further disseminate the project results through newly established contacts, not just in Serbia, but abroad as well. Members of the Serbian project team were invited to attend two events, one in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one in Montenegro, in 2023, in order to present MOSMEN project and its results. Members of the HEIs were interested in the possibility of future cooperation once the digital platform and e-learning materials are made available. Positive feedback was received by the grass-root sports club managers for the high-quality content of the materials.
